I am the self-proclaimed buffalo wing connoisseur and my journey has led me down to one conclusion, that we use the same buffalo sauce every time. And trust me, I am a huge fan of Frank’s Hot Sauce, it is popular for a reason. But, I wanted to venture out of this sauce monopoly and see if there was another way to make this classic dish while still holding true to the flavor!

My experimentation led me to Valentina. Now, I always have a bottle in my fridge, so I thought why not try this! I made the sauce similar to a classic buffalo, and I have to say, I may be converted over. To your pot, add your Valentina, Worcestershire sauce, honey, ACV, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, and garlic powder. Let his get to a low simmer. Next, toss in your cold butter. Stir until the butter is melted and remove from heat.

Cook your wings based on your preference. This can be fried, baked, or grilled! Toss your wings into your sauce and garnish with cotija cheese and cilantro. Serve immediately.
