So, you’re telling me a shrimp fried this rice? No, but you can! This easy fried rice recipe will have you making this every meal. It is really so simple and all can be done in one pan. I like using a wok, I got a great non-stick one at Ikea for the stove top, but you can also use a large non-stick pan as well! What is great about this recipe is how few ingredients it is. Making fried rice has never been easier!

Yum Yum Sauce
First, we need to make the sauce. This really tasted delicious on top of the rice. To 1 cup of mayo, add 2 tbsp tomato paste, 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar, 1 tsp each: salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder, and 1 tbsp sugar. Give this a good mix! You can always tweak the amount of seasonings to your liking.

Fried Rice
Next, we prep our protein. I found a beautifully marbled steak. Cut and dice it into 1 inch cubes. Seasoning it with your favorite seasonings. I used 1 tbsp of a salt and pepper steak seasoning I had and 1 tsp of paprika. For my shrimp, I used 1 tbsp of Old Bay. I tend to use Old Bay in a lot of my recipes because it is easy to get a lot of flavor with one seasoning!

In your wok or skillet, add 2 tbsp high heat oil such as canola or olive oil and 1 tbsp of sesame oil. Heat to high heat. Add in your steak first and cook for about 5 minutes, continually stirring. We want a nice sear on the steak. When the steak is about 80% done, toss in your shrimp. Finish cooking your meat and seafood until done. Remove from the heat leaving any brown bits at the bottom of the wok. Seriously, it is this easy and simple!

Toss in 1 tbsp of butter and 1 tbsp of minced garlic, and 1 tbsp of ginger paste. Give this a mix until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Next, add in your frozen veggie mix, I used carrots, peas, corn, and green beans. For the rice, I cooked some the day before and refrigerated it. Day old rice does work the best. Toss in your rice and mix with the veggies and garlic and ginger. Lastly, add in 3-4 tbsp if soy sauce (this can be made gluten free with GF soy sauce) and stir. Add your meat back into the skillet and thoroughly combine,

Finish by plating and adding your yum yum sauce and fresh green onion!
