This recipe has to be one of the easiest for delicious chicken that you can just put in your air fryer! It has a balance of sweet garlicky heat and does not require any pots and pans. If you are looking to elevate your basic chicken recipe, this is the one for you!

First, we are going to score our chicken. This allows the chicken to have more surface area for seasoning and flavor. You can season your chicken to your liking, but I used a basic blend of Chicken Bouillon, Cajun Seasoning, Garlic Powder, Salt, Pepper, and Paprika.

Season in between the scores. Next, add small dabs of butter in some of the scores. This will help your chicken from drying out! Place into your air fryer at 390 for about 20 minutes. I did mine in increments because mine chicken was very large. I found mine to be done around the 22 minute mark but some would definitely be done sooner.

In the meantime, in a small bowl, add melted butter, honey, hot sauce of your choice, and minced garlic. Give this a mix and we are going to pour this over our cooked chicken. Once the chicken is cooked, plate and baste with your honey hot sauce. Sprinkle with some fresh parsley and enjoy!

Could I use boneless thighs instead of breasts?
Yes, although cooking time may vary! I would suggest 16-18 minutes at 390.
What do you like to serve this with?
I liket to serve with a starch or grain and a veggie! Totally up to you! Can do rice, potatoes, pasta with broccoli or even asparagus.
Made this tonight for dinner and my husband and son loved it. I would Season with a little less salt but this is definitely a keeper.
Thank you for sharing.
Agreed! I loved it! but used a lot less salt. There’s salt in the bouillon and the cajun seasoning. Didn’t need the extra 2 tsp. And I put the leftover chicken and sauce on my salad the next day. It was excellent!
what can I use instead of hot sauce because I really can’t stand heat at all 🙁
Perhaps a little of your favorite chicken marinade! They sell some delicious ones at the supermarket!
The technique is going to be a game changer.
Loved the recipe. Scaled back the salt.
Going into medium rotation.
Served with sweet potato and sauteed vegetables.
What if I want to bake it? How long and at what degrees do you recommend
For baking, 375 for about 25-30 depending on the size of your chicken breast
The seasoning blend is extraordinarily salty. I would recommend either dialing significantly back on either the salt or the bouillon, or a bit of both. Even the butter and honey in the sauce cannot quell the salt. But I bet it’ll be BOMB when adjustments are made!
Thank you for your input! I did scale back the salt in the recipe now but I do love salt!
How would I cook it if I wanted to put it in a slow cooker ? Looks amazing !! Can’t wait to try
I would add all the sauces to the slow cooker with the chicken so it can cook together. It may not have the crispy edges, but it will be tender. You will have a slight accumulation of chicken broth that will be in the crock pot due to the slow cooking. It will make the sauce runnier, but the flavor will still be there!
I made this last night after a long day at work. It was super quick to prep and only 22 min in the air fryer. Looked and tasted like it was way more complex. Super tasty and will have it again!
