If you want a quick and easy appetizer that is a crowd pleaser, then you NEED to try this simple crispy puff pastry with sweet fig jam. It makes the perfect handheld that will impress your guests! I love adding this to the side of a charcuterie board or grazing spread. The best part about this is it is low cost and very minimal effort!

First, thaw out your puff pastry. I like to leave mine out on the counter for the designated time on the box. Additionally, to make your goat cheese easier to spread, I also let that come to room temperature. Pull about 30-45 minutes from the fridge before use.

Once the pastry and cheese is thawed and room temperature, lay out your pastry on your cutting board. If you need to, you can lightly flour the surface but this step is optional since it does have a slight coating on it already. Gently spread out your goat cheese to all corners of the pastry, giving it a thin layer. Next, spread your fig jam on top. Lastly sprinkle some fresh thyme on top.

Carefully roll your dough fairly tightly but not to where it begins to rip. Then with a sharp knife, cut about 1 inch sections (as if you were cutting cinnamon rolls. Lay each section on your parchment lined baking sheet spiral side up. Finally, brush with an egg wash and bake at 400F for 20 minutes or until the pastry has puffed up and is golden brown and crispy.
Carefully remove from the heat and let cool. Enjoy!
